Muscat Stock Exchange High Level Delegation Visits EGX To Discuss Joint Cooperation

In a step to enhance joint cooperation with Arab capital markets, Rami El-Dokany, Executive Chairman of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), welcomed a delegation from Oman headed by Mohamed Mahfouz Al-Ardhi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Haitham Salem Al-Salmi, Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Mothly Saleh Al-Shaqsiya, Member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Stock Exchange and Mrs. Nidhal Mustafa Al-Humaid, Senior Manager of the Risk and Compliance Department, within the framework of enhancing joint cooperation between both capital markets.

EGX celebrated the visit of the Muscat Stock Exchange with a Ringing of Bell ceremony Dokkani welcomed the members of the Muscat Stock Exchange delegation, expressing the strong relations between both exchanges. The Chairman of EGX welcomed all aspects of cooperation proposed, especially dual listing, exchange experiences and information, and technical mechanisms facilitating cooperation and increasing.

Mohamed Al-Ardhi, Chairman of Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX), praised the level and strength of relations between both exchangs, which he described as extended through out decades. He praised the historical role of EGX in serving the national economy, as well as EGX’s worth standing achievements. Al-Ardhi explained that the visit seeks to discuss means of cooperation, especially with the global trends of linking stock exchanges and technical development that eliminated geographical borders in the world of finance and investment.

Haitham Al Salmi, Muscat Stock Exchange CEO, praised the solid bilateral relations between both exchanges, stating that MSX benefited from EGX experiences throughout the years and that MSX is working on the continuous exchange of experiences between both institutions to support their development. He pointing out that technical cooperation is one of the most important areas of cooperation during this visit, as well as facilitating the import and export of financial technologies. He stressed the importance role played by the authorities and regulatory bodies in the two markets to enhance investments.

During this visit the delegation will meet with EGX’s management to discuss developments in both markets. Other meetings are scheduled with Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), to discuss the latest legislative and legal developments. Other meetings are scheduled with Dr. Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt.
