BIST 30 Index Futures – CFTC No Action Letter

Tuesday, 3 September 2013

As it is known, the futures markets regulator of the United States, Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a no-action letter which permits the offer and sale of the TURKDEX-ISE 30 Index Futures Contracts to retail investors and the mutual funds on August 18, 2010.

The merger of Turkish Derivatives Exchange (TURKDEX) and Borsa İstanbul Futures & Options Market (VİOP) trading platforms has been completed successfully (August 5, 2013), following which, all listed futures and options contracts in Turkey started trading on the single platform of VİOP. An important financial instrument of Borsa İstanbul VİOP, BIST 30 Index Futures Contracts holds the validity of “No Action Letter” as it is clarified by CFTC and the exchange information regarding the financial instrument is updated on the website of CFTC. Following this decision, BIST 30 Index Futures Contracts will continue to be a preferred financial instrument by US investors.
