Borsa İstanbul, which passed the decision to enter into strategic partnership with Nasdaq OMX last year, has now concluded a deal for establishing a strategic alliance with the London Stock Exchange, one of the most established, redeemed stock exchanges in the world with a 300-year history. Speaking at the 141st anniversary ceremony organized for Borsa Istanbul on Monday, the Chairman and CEO, İbrahim M. Turhan, noted that an agreement for strategic partnership has been concluded with the London Stock Exchange in order to promote BIST-100, the broad index, and to close the difference between funds traded at Borsa Istanbul and global stock exchanges.

“Now, we have a new strategic partner along with Nasdaq; the London Stock Exchange. We have concluded an agreement in order to increase liquidity of some of the capital market instruments, and for our investment funds to have the ability to compete in global markets.” In his speech, Turhan also announced that the agreement will be officially signed by the Turkish Prime Minister on January 20th, 2015, during his visit to London
