Today, we are celebrating April 23rd, the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the launch of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, the product of the common will of our Nation.
Founded under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his brothers-in-arms in great poverty, Turkish Grand National Assembly managed to convene the Turkish Nation under a single roof. It is the unique independence struggle of this Assembly that created the Republic of Turkey.
It is important to note that the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day is the world’s first and only children’s festivity. Raising a free-thinking and independent generation that is well-equipped to compete with their peers is crucial for the future of the Republic.
With this in mind, I would like congratulate our Nation and especially children on the occasion of this special festivity, and hope that the current peaceful atmosphere lasts forever.
