Borsa İstanbul & REIDIN International Real Estate Investment Trust Panel on October 3

At the Borsa İstanbul & Reidin International REIT Panel 2013, the Turkish economy’s leading sectors of finance and real estate come together under one roof to shed light on the future of these sectors at the panel.

The finance and real estate sectors came together for the Borsa İstanbul & Reidin International REIT Panel 2013 on October 3, 2013 at Borsa İstanbul Conference Hall.

The panel began with keynote speeches by Capital Markets Board Executive Vice President Bekir Sıtkı Şafak, Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Dr. Mustafa K. Yılmaz and GYODER (The Association of Real Estate and Real Estate Investment Companies) Chairman Aziz Torun.

In his speech, Borsa İstanbul Executive Vice President Dr. Mustafa K. Yılmaz expressed that real estate investment trusts have played a significant role in the growth of the real estate sector in Turkey and that the sector shows potential for more development. He also announced that new arrangements are underway to provide the legal framework for real estate securitization. By adding Islamic real estate investment trusts to traditional real estate investment trusts, Mustafa K. Yılmaz said, “these steps will enable the real estate sector to grow and contribute to İstanbul becoming an important international financial center.

Following the keynote speeches, three panels, entitled “International Real Estate Investment Trusts and Islamic Investment Trusts”, “REIT’S Changing Environment; Legal Framework” and “The Performance of Different REIT regimes” were held.
