Bucharest Stock Exchange: Institutional Investors Met Important Romanian Companies At “Romania Investors

Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) organized on June 16 – 17, 2015, the first event of the series “Romania Investors Days” in Bucharest, during which local and international investors and analysts had the opportunity to meet Romanian listed companies.
After organizing such events in London and New York, BVB held “Romania Investors Days” in Bucharest. This kind of events is meant to promote the Romanian capital markets and to bring together Romanian companies and investors.
The event was preceded by a welcome reception held on Monday, June 15, 2015, by their Royal Highnesses Crown Princess Margareta and Prince Radu at Elisabeta Palace.
On Tuesday, June 16, approximately 120 people – investors, representatives of companies and journalists participated at the conference that marked the beginning to this event. Global investors who were not able to physically attend the event could read about the event on Bloomberg platform. The panel was followed by a series of 1-on-1 meetings organized by BVB in order for investors and analysts to meet and discuss with companies about their business stories and future plans.
“The privatization process remains one of the most important factors for further growth not only of the Romanian capital market but of the whole economy. Romania when it comes to the capital market one of the most fast evolving in EU and most dynamic. We need new engines for growth. Also, we need to be more pro-active, to attract new clients and convince them that the products on the Romanian capital market are good”, stated Ludwik Sobolewski, BVB CEO.
A broader picture of the Romanian capital market and of the Romanian economy was presented by Mugur Isarescu (Governor of the National Bank of Romania), Misu Negritoiu (Financial Supervisory Authority Chairman), Stefan Nanu (Head of the Treasury), Lucian Anghel (BVB Chairman), Dorin Badea (CFA Romania), Constantin Cosereanu (CFA, Equity Application Specialist, Bloomberg), Diana Coroba (Tax Partner, PwC Romania), Alexandra Smedoiu (Senior Manager, PwC Romania), as well as the host of the event, Ludwik Sobolewski, BVB CEO.
During the two days of “Romania Investors Days”, June 16 – 17, 227 meetings between 22 important listed or that are going to be listed companies and 48 investors were held. Companies that participated in the meeting were: Albalact (ALBZ), Antibiotice (ATB), Banca Comerciala Carpatica (BCC), Banca Transilvania (TLV), BRD-Groupe Societe Generale (BRD), Bursa de Valori Bucuresti (BVB), Conpet (COTE), Electrica (EL), Electromagmentica (ELMA), Fondul Proprietatea (FP), Impact Developer&Contractor (IMP), Nuclearelectrica (SNN), OMV Petrom (SNP), Romcarbon (ROCE), Romgaz (SNG), SIF Moldova (SIF2), SIF Oltenia (SIF5), SIF Transilvania (SIF3), SSIF Broker (BRK), Transelectrica (TEL), Transgaz (TGN), as well as with Hidroelectrica, which is going to be listed on BVB.
