CASE Presides the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) for a Second Consecutive Term

Recognizing the prominent role played by Egypt on the African front as well the continuous efforts of the Egyptian Stock Exchange in endorsing the African Capital Markets, Mr. Maged Shawky, the Chairman of CASE, was re-elected, for a second consecutive term, as the President of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) during its 11th General Assembly meeting that was held in Accra, Ghana over the period October 28th – October 31st, 2007. The meeting addressed a number of important issues related to the development of the African markets according to the international standards, to further enhance members’ competitiveness and enable them to step up global challenges. Worth mentioning that the CASE has presided over the African Securities Exchanges Association since September 2005, and has had a significant contribution in promoting and reinforcing the role of the association as a central reference point for the African countries.
