EGX Finalizes Carbon Emissions Training Program for Investors Relations Officers

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) finalized a training program for the IR officers on sustainable development practices in relation to the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), decree No. 108 of 2021.  The three days training course held in the presence of Investor relation representatives of listed companies to tackled issues related to the mechanisms and drafting reports on climate risk reporting TCFD in cooperation with Standard and Poor’s S&P Global.

Rami El-Dokany stressed on the importance of continuing efforts for the capacity building of IR officers to be up to date with the ongoing developments in the capital market industry, especially ESG practices in light of the growing interest of international investors in companies’ commitment to ESG practices in their businesses.

El-Dokany added that EGX is planning to organize similar workshops and activities onwards.  He pointed out that EGX organized related activities with international entities for the 103 listed companies that should abide to FRA’s decree No 108.

Worth mentioned that a training program on climate impact disclosure (TCFD) in June 2022, in collaboration with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange Initiative (UN-SSE), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the Carbon Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB).
