GM of BBVB Speaks at Banking and Finance Conference

The general manager of the Baku Interbank Currency Exchange, Farkhad Amirbayov, participated in the 2nd International Caucasus conference “Banks and Finances”.


The forum was organized on May, 17-18 in Tbilisi and has been carried out with the official support of the government, the National bank and Associations banks of Georgia and Azerbaijan, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development and the International Financial Corporation. Being one of the lecturers at a session, devoted to the discussion of progressive ideas for financial and bank sectors of Trans-caucasia, F. Amirbayov speech focused on a report on the integration of the financial markets of region. As an innovation, the general manager of the BBVB offered to the bank communities of Azerbaijan and Georgia a model which would create a uniform Caucasian Universal Exchange. To F. Amirbayov’s opinion, the presence of such an exchange would allow professional participants of the financial market to access all segments, and the state regulating bodies the ability to carry out a united and coordinated strategy of further cooperation in the field of development of the financial markets of these two countries. As he said, the unification of the several markets within the framework of one exchange is equitable to the interests of investors, emitters and the state regulating bodies. Being the biggest specialized forum of the Caucasian region for professionals in the financial sphere, the Caucasian International conference “Banks and Finance” gathered together about 200 representatives of banks,  insurance companies and other organizations from Azerbaijan, Great Britain, France, Germany, Latvia, USA and Kazakhstan.
