Lahore Stock Exchange To Launch The Investors Awareness Program

In order to provide regular awareness and education services, LSE has announced the start of yet another investor’s education program under the name of ‘Investors Awareness Program.’ The program is aimed at holding regular sessions of market information for the general stock investors.
Under the new program, LSE shall hold monthly informational sessions for the LSE investors on every first Tuesday of the month. The first session is scheduled to be held on 02nd April’2013 in the LSE Auditorium. These sessions shall be held on open enrollment basis for which LSE shall send invitations to all registered investors who would have provided their emails or mobile numbers in their respective UIN databases while opening their accounts with the LSE brokers. In this way, the program would provide a medium to the existing investors to learn about the fresh perspectives on the market investments, latest market trends as well as gain information about the upgraded investors’ protection arrangements put in place at the markets.
It may be mentioned that LSE is already the only exchange in Pakistan which has a regular financial literacy program. Under this initiative, LSE has joined hands with the South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE) to provide basic financial knowledge to the students of all ages in the country under its flagship ‘Campus Outreach Program.’ In this way, the start of the ‘Investors Awareness Program’ shall help LSE to focus on building the learning curve of the existing investors.
MD LSE, Mr. Aftab Ahmad Ch., stated that as a financial market, LSE has a basic responsibility to invest in expanding the knowledge about our markets and increase the participation of investors in the market. He said that with the running of two regular programs, i.e the Campus Outreach Program and the Investors Awareness Program, LSE shall fulfill the objectives of Corporate Social Responsibility of our Exchange. He encouraged all existing investors to sign up for the program and make it a regular practice to attend the planned monthly sessions to increase their knowledge about the capital markets.
Lahore Stock Exchange is a fully electronic and completely automated stock exchange of Pakistan. LSE is the only domestic exchange to have more than one trading floors, besides being the only exchange in the region to have established a unified order book with another domestic exchange.
