Non-Jordanian Investments at the ASE – June 2006

The total value of shares that were bought by Non-Jordanian investors since the beginning of 2006 until the end of June was JD1149.3 million, representing 14.4% of the overall trading volume, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD1000.4 million. As a result, the net of non-Jordanian investment since the beginning of 2006 until the end of June showed an increase by JD149 million, compared to an increase by JD85.2 million in the comparable period of 2005. Arab investors purchases since the beginning of 2006 until the end of June was JD910.7 million, or 79.2% of the over all purchases by non-Jordanians, while the value of non-Arab purchases amounted to JD238.7 million, constituting 20.8%. Arab sales amounted to JD853 million, 85.3% of non-Jordanian total sales, while the value of non-Arab sales amounted to JD147.4 million, representing 14.7% of the total sales by non-Jordanian. The total value of shares bought by non-Jordanian investors during June 2006 was JD151.3 million.
