The Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchange Alongside With Armenia Securities Exchange Rings the Bell for Gender Equality

For the second consecutive year, the Federation 0f Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges, alongside with its member Armenia Securities Exchange and supported by UNDP and UN Women, rang the bell for women’s empowerment on March 09, 2021.

“Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” event is held  in celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March 2021, as a joint initiative of the UN Global Compact, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Women, the International Finance Corporation, World Federation of Exchanges, and Women in Exchange Traded Fund (ETFs) to help raise awareness for women’s economic empowerment. 

Considering social distancing limitations related to Covid19, the event was organized online via Zoom call, where key leaders from Armenian business community highlighted the importance of women empowerment and shared their insights on the main topic of the event “Women empowerment and leadership: individual or corporate efforts?”.

The Opening remarks were made by FEAS Secretary General Konstantin Saroyan, and AMX CEO Hayk Yeganyan. Mr. Saroyan highlighted the importance of having women leaders and brought up the example of his team on FEAS Secretariat: not looking the fact of having a small team, most of them are women.

During her speech, FEAS Deputy Secretary General Ms. Armenuhy Hovakimyan encouraged all women to be confident and take risks, instead of waiting opportunities to knock your door.

The panel discussion was followed by “Ring the Bell” ceremony.
