In the framework of Corporate Governance IFC Project in South-East European region, financed by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO), in the premises of Hotel Tirana, the forum on “Family Business and its Governance”, took place.

The forum was organized in cooperation with Tirana Stock Exchange & IFC, and enabled by the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania. The purpose of this meeting was the promotion of family business governance, the advantages family business might have if entering an IPO, and the impact that the new Law for commercial companies brings in this business. The family business includes companies ranging from small and medium corporations to conglomerates that operate in many countries of the world.

In her speech, the Tirana Stock Exchange CEO, Mrs. Anila Fureraj   underlined the participation of these businesses in the capital market, as a very good opportunity with lower cost of credit for capital expansion. Also, the CEO presented a specific description of the listing conditions that a company must meet in order to be listed on the stock exchange, by market type and level of trading. The forum was a very good opportunity for promoting the TSE to domestic investors and foreigners’ ones.
