The Luxembourg Stock Exchange has listed the first international bond from the Republic of Belarus

The Luxembourg Stock Exchange has listed the first international bond from the Republic of Belarus.

The issue (ISIN XS0529394701) was admitted to trading on 3 August 2010 for a total issue amount of USD 600 million. It is a fixed rate bond with a coupon of 8.75%, paid semi annually, and maturing on 3 August 2015. The Republic of Belarus intends to use the proceeds of the issue for general purposes, including foreign reserve assets.

The Luxembourg Stock Exchange welcomes this listing from Belarus. As the leading exchange for international bonds, it already lists sovereign bonds from Russia and Ukraine. The Luxembourg Stock Exchange also listed the first international bond (Eurobond) in 1963.
